Job Summary 

The Electrical Controls Division Manager leads and develops the Electrical Controls Division at BSC Industries, ensuring operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and team engagement. This role combines technical expertise in industrial controls with strong leadership skills to manage workflow, oversee system design and troubleshooting, and drive departmental growth. The Electrical Controls Division Manager serves as both a technical leader and people manager, balancing customer responsiveness with long-term strategic initiatives. 

Requirements:

  Core Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a diverse team including technicians, engineers, specialists, and the assistant manager
  • Foster a collaborative, safety-conscious, and motivated work environment.
  • Lead informal and formal training sessions on system applications, troubleshooting, compliance, safety, and new designs.
  • Make high-impact decisions regarding hiring, team assignments, and technical approaches.
  • Serve as a point of contact for customers, handling service calls, troubleshooting, and technical support.
  • Prepare accurate and timely control system quotes, manage production schedules, and oversee rush orders.
  • Lead design, programming, and implementation of control systems ranging from single-drive to complex multi-drive PLC/HMI systems.
  • Troubleshoot new and legacy industrial control systems.
  • Develop parts lists, review processes for efficiency, and oversee production order scheduling.
  • Maintain compliance with customer-specific requirements.
  • Provide occasional technical support to other departments.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or related technical field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in industrial controls, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in managing teams and customer-facing operations.
  • Skills and Experience
  • Proficiency with PLC programming software, HMI software, VFD’s, various drive programming platforms, AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting complex electrical control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Calm, clear communicator capable of uniting teams with varying skill levels.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance fast-paced daily demands with long-term departmental goals.
  • Commitment to employee development and creating a  positive team environment.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • UL 508A/698A knowledge and application.
  • NFPA 79 compliance knowledge.
  • Formal management training or certification.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Schedule: On-site, full-time.
  • Travel: Occasional local travel within southern New England to customer sites (1-3 times per week & Occasional overnight      travel (3–4 times per year).
