Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to join our team and assist in preparing cost estimates for hazardous material abatement and demolition projects. This role is perfect for someone with basic construction knowledge, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze and interpret construction blueprints, project plans, specifications, and project documentsAssist in preparing accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipmentConduct site visits as needed to gather project informationCommunicate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to clarify project requirementsMaintain organized records of estimates and project documentationSupport lead estimators and project teams as neededPerform other duties assigned by supervisorKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprintsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsWillingness to learn and grow within the companyProficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)Strong numerical and analytical skillsFamiliarity with construction estimating software, i.e., Bluebeam, preferredKnowledge of hazardous material abatement and/or demolition practices a plusDemonstrated reliability, including regular and predictable attendance and punctuality with an ability to meet project deadlines.Ability to maintain a positive, respectful, and professional demeanor and conduct oneself with integrity.Education, Training, and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious work experience in construction or estimating, preferred
