Job Summary: The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations of a multi-location wholesale distribution business, ensuring accurate monthly close, strong internal controls, clean balance sheets, and GAAP-compliant financials. This role sits between transactional accounting and the Controller, with hands-on ownership of the close and leadership of the accounting team.

This is a working manager role — close-driven, detail-oriented, and operationally connected


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals, prepaids, reconciliations and fixed assets for multiple locations.
  • Preparation and filing of sales tax      for multiple locations and states.
  • Reconcile Balance sheet and P&L      accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition
  • Support preparation of monthly      financial statements and variance explanations
  • Partner with operations on inventory      cycle counts, excess and obsolete reserves, physical inventory
  • Maintain daily bank reconciliations      for multipe accounts.
  • Preparation and filing of various      licenses, surveys and other certifications as needed for the business.
  • Routine review of expenses to ensure      proper coding on ledger.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and      setting company accounting standards, support year-end audits.
  • Assist and back up Accounts Payable      when needed.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts to      ensure proper allocation of expenses. 
  • Maintain Concur expense reporting      system
  • Continually seeking and implementing      opportunities to streamline and improve finance and accounting processes to      better utilize financial and accounting software.
  • Assist Controller and/or Management      with special projects.



Requirements:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • 5-7 years experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Strong attention to details. 
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Infor SyteLine a plus
