Position Summary:
The Therapeutic Child Care Teacher provides nurturing care and instruction that supports the emotional, intellectual, social, and physical development of children. In addition, they assist parents by modeling and guiding effective caregiving techniques. Teachers are responsible for co-developing, implementing, and documenting individualized development plans for children within their specific age group.

RESPONSIBLITIES
Maintain professional relationships with parents, staff, and children.
Contribute to maintaining a safe, healthy, and clean environment in the room.
Participate in the development, implementation, and documentation of treatment plans involving children.
Plan and oversee a developmentally appropriate program (curriculum and environment) for an assigned age group, considering individual needs, preferences, abilities, and styles.
Accurately maintain children’s Carelogic records with detailed documentation of attendance, developmental progress, and classroom interactions.
Build positive, intentional relationships with children and colleagues through consistent and appropriate interactions, keeping in mind cultural differences and individual personalities.
Report any unusual events or concerns regarding children's behavior to the supervisor in an objective and private manner. Document incidents using the appropriate reporting tools.
Manage classroom behavior in a calm and patient manner, adhering to the guidance policies.
Assist in the planning and execution of the daily schedule.
Stay informed about CPS protocols and procedures relevant to childcare and agency policies. Report and document any suspected child abuse or neglect immediately to the supervisor.
Ensure important information is communicated effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- A Bachelor's Degree, or 5 years of relevant experience such as Early Childhood Education or Social Work, is required.
Experience:
- Experience working with parents and children at risk of child abuse and/or neglect.
- Knowledge of various behavior patterns of preschool-aged children, toddlers, and infants, as well as basic concepts of development in children.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration:
- Valid drivers license and insurance
