Contract Instructor(s) needed to teach one or more courses: Business Intelligence, Project Management, Introduction to AI, Digital Ecosystems
Contract Period: April 27, 2026 – June 5, 2026
We are seeking experienced and engaging instructors to deliver four specialized courses as part of a six-week academic contract. We are hiring individuals who can teach one or more individual courses, depending on expertise.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with career-focused students in high-demand areas including data, AI, project management, and digital innovation.
Courses Available
1. Business Intelligence
Course Overview:
In today’s information-driven economy, organizations must effectively identify, collect, analyze, and act on strategic information. This course explores methodologies and tools used to monitor markets, competitors, and industry trends to support strategic decision-making.
Key Topics:
- Business intelligence and competitor monitoring
- Strategic surveillance and monitoring stages
- Information sourcing (pull vs. push methods)
- Data mining fundamentals
- Monitoring tools (including free web-based tools)
- Implementation of monitoring policies
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Background in business strategy, competitive intelligence, market research, or analytics
- Experience with monitoring tools, Power BI, and data analysis
- Ability to connect theory with real-world business applications
2. Project Management
Course Overview:
This course introduces students to project management fundamentals, emphasizing the central role of the project manager and practical application of core methodologies.
Key Topics:
- Project lifecycle and governance
- Risk, budget, and time management
- Project planning and milestone development
- Agile methodology fundamentals
- Team communication and stakeholder management
- Analysis of project dysfunctions and corrective measures
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- PMP certification or equivalent industry experience preferred
- Practical experience managing projects
- Familiarity with Agile and traditional methodologies
- Strong facilitation and team leadership skills
3. Introduction to AI
Course Overview:
This course introduces artificial intelligence concepts, machine learning fundamentals, and practical applications using Python. Students will complete hands-on labs and develop a data science project.
Key Topics:
- AI concepts: cognition-based vs. data-driven
- Machine learning (supervised & unsupervised)
- Computer vision, NLP, conversational AI
- Ethics, privacy, and transparency
- Data science pipeline
- Linear regression implementation in Python
- Python libraries: pandas, numpy, matplotlib, scikit-learn
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Strong background in AI, machine learning, or data science
- Proficiency in Python and ML libraries
- Experience teaching technical content to beginner/intermediate learners
- Ability to guide students through practical lab work and projects
4. Digital Ecosystems
Course Overview:
This course examines how local digital environments connect to the global digital ecosystem, exploring regulatory, economic, and technological frameworks shaping digital professions.
Key Topics:
- Local vs. global digital environments
- Regulatory and technological ecosystems
- Innovation hubs and digital transformation
- Site visits to major innovation and technology centers (where applicable)
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Background in digital strategy, innovation, technology policy, or digital transformation
- Knowledge of Canadian and global digital ecosystems
- Ability to connect academic concepts with real-world examples
- Experience coordinating experiential or site-based learning is an asset
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging in-person or virtual instruction
- Facilitate discussions and practical exercises
- Provide feedback and evaluate student work (where applicable)
- Support students in achieving course learning outcomes
- Maintain attendance and academic standards
- Prepare one hour per course (paid prep time provided)
Qualifications:
- Relevant industry experience in the subject area(s)
- Prior teaching or training experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to teach in an applied, student-centered environment
Contract Details
- Six-week contract: April 27 – June 5, 2026
- Compensation: $40 -$45/hour based on experience + prep
- Paid preparation
- Opportunity to teach one or multiple courses
Schedule Details
- 4 hours each class (9am to 1pm)
- Monday: Project Management
- Tuesday: Introduction to AI
- Wednesday: Business Intelligence
- Thursday: Digital Ecosystems
- Friday: Digital Ecosystems or Introduction to AI
