RFNOW Inc. is seeking applications from motivated individuals to join our Construction and Maintenance Team. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to be part of a growing team of technicians working to maintain all of our medium and heavy-duty construction equipment throughout the year. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. This role is ideal for a responsible, independent, and self-motivated mechanic who thrives on being challenged with on-the-spot repairs at various field locations.
General Responsibilities
Inspection & Diagnosis:Conduct routine inspections of heavy machinery and vehicles.Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.Maintenance & Repair:Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other systems.Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools and diagnostic equipment.Travel to various remote sites for field repairs as needed.Overhaul:Disassemble and reassemble heavy equipment engines and components.Rebuild hydraulic systems and related components.Record Keeping:Develop and maintain routine and preventative maintenance schedules.Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance performed.Assist in maintaining inventory of parts and supplies.Safety Compliance:Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.Participate in safety training and stay up-to-date with industry standards.Teamwork:Communicate clearly with mechanical technicians and team members during repair operations.Share knowledge and train technicians and support staff members as required.Qualifications & Experience
Journeyman Ticket as Heavy Duty Mechanic preferred – proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.3-5 years’ experience with heavy equipment repair in a similar position.Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required – Class 3 License would be an asset.Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.Proficient in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and software.Excellent written and spoken communication skills.Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Keen interest in learning and developing new skills, keeping up with advancing technology.Requirements
This position typically involves working in a garage or shop setting, with exposure to various weather conditions and noise levels.Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs or more, with assistance) and perform physically demanding tasks.Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoors and in confined spaces.
