Overview:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying and maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring that all products are packaged, labeled, and delivered on time. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips, invoices, or purchase orders
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, proper labeling, and compliance with shipping regulations
- Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities
- Load and unload delivery trucks, using forklifts or pallet jacks when necessary
- Coordinate with carriers, drivers, and internal departments to ensure timely deliveries and pickups
- Keep shipping/receiving areas clean, organized, and safe
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, reporting discrepancies to management
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment (certification may be required)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer skills for data entry and shipping software
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
