Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Machine Builder with strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on production experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and takes pride in producing high-quality work. This role involves assembling complex mechanical and electrical components, performing fit-up and fine adjustments, and ensuring products meet strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex mechanical and electrical assemblies with precision

  • Install and adjust impellers, shafts, gearboxes, and bushings

  • Complete fit-up, welding, grinding, deburring, and polishing operations

  • Interpret assembly drawings, work orders, and technical documentation

  • Use inspection gauges and maintain accurate inspection records

  • Identify and report deviations from specifications and tolerances

  • Complete standardized documentation and inspection reports

  • Operate hand and power tools, overhead cranes, and pallet jacks

  • Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly

  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas

  • Collaborate with multiple departments to support efficient operations

  • Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • OSSD High School Diploma or GED (required)

  • Technical school diploma, trade certificate, or equivalent (preferred)

  • CWB welding certification (asset)

  • TSSA certification for carbon and stainless (asset)

  • Forklift and overhead crane certification (preferred)

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with rotary equipment and complex assemblies

  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

  • Knowledge of manual and electrical tools

  • Understanding of metrology and inspection processes

  • Familiarity with Duplex, Ni-hard, and Alloy 20 materials (asset)

  • Advanced math skills, including geometry and trigonometry

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Self-starter with strong initiative and follow-through

Physical Requirements

  • Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, reaching, and stooping

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Daily verbal and written communication in English
