Job Summary:
The Finishing and Final Inspection Operator is responsible for ensuring the quality and precision of forged components produced. This position involves the post-forging processes, including finishing, inspection, and final quality control to meet industry standards and customer specifications.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform post-forging finishing operations such as grinding, deburring, and polishing to achieve the required surface finish on forged components.
- Use various hand tools and machinery to remove imperfections and excess material from forged parts.
- Ensure that finishing processes meet specified tolerances and visual appearance standards.
- Conduct detailed inspections of forged components to verify conformance to customer requirements and industry standards.
- Utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to check dimensions and tolerances.
- Inspect surfaces for defects, ensuring that the final product meets quality standards.
- Record inspection results and maintain detailed inspection reports.

Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient in the use of measuring instruments and quality control tools.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of forging processes and materials is desirable.
- Understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in machining or manufacturing is a plus.
- Proven experience in finishing and final inspection within a forging or manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine.
