Summary of Primary Functions: The Millwright Superintendent manages Millwright crews on large-scale projects and maintains communication with clients and project coordinators. They are responsible for overseeing daily job site operations, ensuring that the company, employee, and customer needs are met. The superintendent utilizes available resources efficiently, while prioritizing safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in all aspects of the project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products. Duties and responsibilities for our Safety Technicians include, but are not limited to:
- Direct and manage millwright crews, making sure work is completed on time, within budget, and in line with the project’sobjectives.
- Delegate jobs to millwrights based on their strengths and skill sets, ensuring the most efficient use of the team.
- Work closely with electrical, piping, and rigging teams to ensure all aspects of the project arein syncand running smoothly.
- Oversee the delivery and distribution of project materials, making sure everything arrives on time and is where it needs to be.
- Regularly inspect the work done by the crews, making sure it meets the company’s quality standards and the project's specifications.
- Help lead installations by interpreting blueprints and schematics, ensuring everything is assembled correctly.
- Quicklyidentifyand resolve mechanical issues as they arise on-site, minimizing delays and keeping the project moving forward.
- Recognize potential safety risks and strictly enforce safety protocols tomaintaina secure work environment.
- Keep project managers updated on the progress of the job, highlighting milestones, and flagging any issues or incidents that mayimpactthe timeline.
- Developing and managing detailed work schedules for crews to ensure tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- While not the main point of contact,maintainingrelationships with clients through regular communication, addressing any concerns or changes, and ensuring their expectations are met.
- Anticipating future resource needs, includingmanpowerand equipment, and coordinating procurement to prevent delays.
- Conducting performance evaluations for millwright crew members, providing feedback, and addressing any performance issues

Experience, Qualifications and Key Competencies
- 30-hour Construction OSHArequired.NCCER is preferred but notrequired.
Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in a Millwright Supervision roleisrequired.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience as a Millwrightisrequired.
- Experience withheavy equipment installation and removalinAutostoreor EV battery settingsis highly desirable.
Key Competencies:
- OSHA 30-Hour General Construction Certification
- Rigging Experience
- Advanced Mechanical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of machinery, equipment installation, and mechanical systems.
- Precision Installation Skills: Extensive experience withthe preciseinstallation, alignment, and assembly of machinery and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Advanced ability to quicklyidentifyand resolve mechanical issues with equipment and systems.
- Heavy Equipment Operation: Proficient in operating and overseeing the use of cranes, hoists, and other heavy machinery.
- Welding & Fabrication:Expertisein welding, cutting, and fabricating metal parts when needed for repairs or installations.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and crews while ensuring workprogressesaccording to schedule and budget.
- Safety Compliance & Hazard Identification: Strong understanding of safety standards and regulations, with the ability to enforce them on-site.
- Materials & Resource Coordination: Experienced in managing materials, tools, and equipment for large projects, ensuringtimelyavailability.
- Structural & Mechanical Installation: In-depth knowledge of structural and mechanical installations, including pumps, conveyors, and industrial systems.
- Leadership & Crew Supervision: Proven ability to lead and mentor millwrights, providing guidance and ensuring the team’s efficiency.
- Strong Communication Skills: Effective in conveying technical information to team members and coordinating with other departments or contractors.
- Client-Facing Communication: Comfortable interacting with clients, addressing project progress, and resolving concerns when necessary.
- Rigging Expertise: Skilled in rigging practices for moving and installing heavy or oversized machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshooting Advanced Systems: Experience diagnosing issues in complex systems, such as hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated machinery.

This position is a traveling indoor/outdoor position and will continually face adverse working conditions in the field and will be exposed to dirt, noise, fumes, heat, cold, etc.
