 JOB SUMMARY: 

The Senior Machine Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex manufacturing and facility equipment to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and performance. This role serves as a technical expert, provides guidance to junior technicians, and supports continuous improvement initiatives across operations.

Requirements:

  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Perform advanced preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment
  • Repair and maintain mechanical and pneumatic systems including valves, cylinders, FRLs, vacuum systems, and air preparation units. 
  • Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective  actions. 
  • Install, qualify, and support new equipment and upgrades
  • Develop, review, and improve maintenance procedures, SOPs, and work instructions
  • Mentor and train technicians and equipment operators
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and EHS teams
  • Monitor equipment performance and downtime; recommend reliability improvements
  • Manage spare parts, tooling, and maintenance documentation within CMMS
  • Ensure  compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
  • Troubleshoot HMI systems (Allen-Bradley Panel View, Siemens HMI) for alarms, communication faults, and operator issues. 

Education & Experience

  • Technical diploma or equivalent experience in Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting automated or high-precision equipment preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs
  • Experience with  HMIs, robotics, or automation systems.
  • Servo motors and stepper motors 
  • VFDs and motor drives (start-up, parameter setting, fault diagnostics)
  • AC & DC motors (single-phase and three-phase)
  • Diagnose and  resolve issues related to sensors and automation components

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform hands-on equipment maintenance
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or on-call as required 
  • Stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • Climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, or platforms
  • Bend, squat, kneel, crouch, and crawl to access machinery
  • Good hand-eye coordination 
  • Fine motor skills for wiring, adjusting small parts and precision measurements 
  • Good near and far vision (corrected is acceptable) 
  • Distinguish colors on wiring or indicators 
  • Adequate  hearing to detect abnormal machine noises or alarms 
  • Comfortable working in hot or cold environments
  • Push/pull heavy machinery, carts or components 
  • Use hand tools,  power tools, and diagnostic equipment for extended periods 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automation  and/or Electrical Certification
  • Six Sigma, TPM,  or Reliability Maintenance Certifications 


Salary Information

$35.00 - $40.00 Hourly Wage
