JOB DUTIES:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory status and history.
- Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans based on patient needs and physician orders.
- Administer respiratory therapies, including aerosol medications, mechanical ventilation, and oxygen therapy.
- Monitor and evaluate patients' responses to treatment, adjusting care as needed.
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions, treatments, and preventative measures.
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and improve outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting assessments, treatments, and progress.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid respiratory therapist license in the State of Missouri.
- Must have an associate's degree or higher in respiratory therapy from an accredited program.
- Must possess certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT),
- Must have a minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in critical care or acute care environments.
- Must have a strong understanding of respiratory care protocols, equipment, and therapies.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities efficiently.
- Must possess current BLS certification throughout employment.
- Must earn ACLS and PALS within six (6) months of hire.
