Position Overview
The CADC I provides direct clinical services to individuals in a Level of Care 3.1 residential, trauma-informed treatment environment. This role ensures the delivery of evidence-based, person-centered care in alignment with Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs), MACBHO standards, and ethical guidelines for addiction treatment. The CADC I plays a key role in assessment, treatment planning, group and individual counseling, documentation, and supporting clients in their recovery journey while maintaining the highest standards of safety, confidentiality, and professional conduct.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Counseling
•    Conduct intake screenings, biopsychosocial assessments, and ASAM-based level of care evaluations under supervision.
•    Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions using evidence-based and trauma-informed practices.
•    Collaborate with clients in developing individualized treatment plans and updating them regularly to reflect progress.
•    Support medication-assisted recovery when indicated, coordinating closely with prescribers and nursing staff.
•    Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies in alignment with trauma-informed care principles.

Documentation & Compliance
•    Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical records in accordance with OAR 309, MACBHO standards, and agency policies.
•    Document treatment interventions, progress notes, and discharge/transition planning with precision and objectivity.
•    Ensure compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and all confidentiality requirements.

Collaboration & Communication
•    Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff including medical providers, peers, case managers, and residential aides.
•    Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and trainings to strengthen care coordination.
•    Provide education to clients and families on substance use disorders, relapse prevention, and recovery supports.

•    Uphold the NAADAC Code of Ethics and Oregon certification standards at all times.
•    Model professional boundaries, self-awareness, and respect for clients’ lived experiences.
•    Support an environment of cultural humility, inclusivity, and equity in all client and staff interactions.
•    Remain accountable to supervision, clinical development, and ongoing credentialing requirements.

Expectations & Work Environment
•    Demonstrate flexibility to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays in a 24-hour facility.
•    Maintain a calm, professional presence when addressing clients experiencing emotional dysregulation, trauma responses, or withdrawal symptoms.
•    Support a structured, safe, and respectful environment that prioritizes dignity and client voice.
•    Engage in continuous professional development and remain current with OHA, MACBHO, and licensing requirements.
•    Uphold agency standards for trauma-informed, strengths-based care with an emphasis on client empowerment and recovery.

Qualifications
•    Current CADC I Certification (or working toward certification within OHA timelines).
•    Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred.
•    Knowledge of ASAM criteria and Oregon Administrative Rules governing SUD treatment.
•    Experience working in residential, inpatient, or behavioral health settings preferred.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills; effective use of electronic health records.
•    Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet all agency compliance standards.
