About this position
Centennial Technologies is seeking a visionary and technically astute Director of Emerging Technologies to lead our innovation strategy across federal civilian and health sectors. This role will drive the discovery, evaluation, and integration of transformative technologies, including AI/ML, intelligent automation, cloud-native platforms, data fabric, and edge solutions, to solve mission-critical challenges for our government clients.
Requirements:- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies relevant to Centennial’s mission areas: AI, data science, cloud computing, DevSecOps, digital health, and cybersecurity.
- Build technology roadmaps aligned with federal agency modernization priorities, especially across HHS, CMS, FDA, IRS, and DHS.
- Lead concept development, rapid prototyping, and pilot deployments for high-impact solutions.
- Translate research and cutting-edge tools into actionable proofs-of-concept within the federal space.
- Guide the development of agentic AI solutions and automation tools.
- Evaluate models, frameworks, and ethical considerations for safe and scalable AI in public sector use.
- Support solution architects and delivery teams in integrating new technologies into proposals and programs.
- Ensure emerging tech initiatives meet performance, scalability, and compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA).
- Collaborate with business development, proposal, and program teams to bring innovation into customer engagements.
- Establish strategic partnerships with tech vendors, research labs, and universities.
- Represent Centennial at industry events, innovation forums, and working groups.
- Author white papers, case studies, and POVs to position Centennial as a leader in government tech modernization.
Key Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in federal technology, innovation strategy, or R&D leadership.
- Hands-on familiarity with: AI/ML; (e.g., LLMs, NLP, computer vision); Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure);
Automation (RPA, orchestration tools); Data platforms (data lakes fabric governance); and DevSecOps; containers; and microservices. - Strong understanding of government missions and constraints in the federal health and civilian landscape.
- Exceptional communication, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or advanced certifications (AI, cloud, etc.) preferred.
Work Conditions:
- Location: Hybrid – 4 days onsite in Tysons Corner, VA (preferred DC Metro candidates: VA, DC, MD).
- Job Type: Full-time
- Clearance: Selected candidate must be eligible to work in the United States, be subject to a government security investigation, and meet eligibility requirements for clearance.
