Nerf Wars Coach

Nerf Wars Coaches help run organized Nerf games for youth participants, ages 6-13. Coaches support teams during gameplay, encourage good sportsmanship, and help keep the games safe and fun for everyone. 

Coaches work alongside a Program Facilitator who leads the session and provides direction. This role is perfect for high school and college students who enjoy leadership, recreation, and working with youth. 

 Time Commitment:

3 hours, Bi-Monthly

 Schedule:

Bi-Monthly (Feb, Apr, Jun or Jul, Aug, Oct, Dec) on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 3:30-6:30 pm during the summer and 4:00-7:00 pm during the rest of the year.

Ideal Candidates: 

• Enjoy working with kids and families 
• Are enthusiastic and energetic 
• Communicate clearly and positively 
• Are responsible and dependable 
• Can help maintain a safe and organized environment 

Experience working with youth, sports, or recreation programs is helpful but not required. 

Coaches gain valuable experience in: 

• Leadership 
• Teamwork 
• Youth engagement 
• Recreation programming 

Most importantly, coaches help create memorable and fun experiences for kids in our community.

•  Help set up and take down the Nerf game area, including inflatables, forts, and equipment 
• Assist with distributing equipment to players
• Support teams during games by encouraging teamwork and strategy 
• Help participants understand game rules 
• Model safe and respectful behavior 
• Help monitor gameplay and ensure safety rules are followed 
• Encourage players and help create a positive, inclusive atmosphere 
• Assist with dart collection and equipment organization 

Age Requirement: 16+

Background Check:

All Nerf Wars staff are required to pass a background check.

Physical Expectations:

This role involves an active environment. Coaches should be comfortable: 

• Standing and moving for extended periods 
• Bending and picking up equipment 
• Participating in active games with youth
