JOB SUMMARY:

This role requires knowledge of pizza preparation and cooking methods.  

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Pizza Preparation:

Prepare and assemble pizza ingredients, including dough, sauces, toppings, and cheeses. Follow recipes and customize orders as required. 

  • Cooking Pizzas:

Operate pizza ovens (wood-fired, conveyor, or deck ovens) to cook pizzas according to specifications. Ensure pizzas are cooked to perfection, with a crispy crust and well-balanced toppings.

  • Quality Control:

Maintain consistency in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of pizzas. Inspect pizzas before serving to ensure they meet quality standards.

  • Kitchen Organization:

Keep pizza station organized and stocked with necessary ingredients, such as dough, sauces, toppings, and garnishes. Assist in rotating ingredients to ensure freshness.

  • Order Management:

Work efficiently with the kitchen team to ensure orders are completed in a timely manner and delivered to customers at the correct temperature.

  • Cleanliness and Safety:

Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow all food safety guidelines and procedures, including proper handling, cooking, and storage of food.

  • Member Service:

Occasionally assist in Member / Guest-facing duties, such as answering questions about the menu or customizing pizza orders.

  • Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with other kitchen staff to maintain smooth operations, assist in other areas of the kitchen when needed, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.


Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Dress neatly and professionally. Your personal appearance makes a strong statement about the pride you take in your performance. 
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in food preparation and quality control. 
  • Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and preparing recipes. 
  • Good judgement.
  • Knife skills. 
  • Excellent time management. 
  • Pleasant and respectful attitude.
  • Basic understanding of or the ability to learn basic sanitation and regulations for workplace safety.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work. 
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team and work quickly and efficiently. 

Education and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Pizza Cook or similar role in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with pizza ovens (wood-fired, deck, or conveyor) and other kitchen equipment.
  • Knowledge of pizza-making techniques, including dough preparation, topping selection, and cooking methods.  
  • High school or vocational school coursework in kitchen basics such as food safety, preferred.
  • Culinary school education a plus. 
  • Food Handler Certification a plus.
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Must have proper knife skills and be able to produce food properly.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and working in a kitchen.
  • Exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold is present in a kitchen environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25-50 pounds at times. 
  • Exposure to chemicals and fumes. 
  • Must be able to work late nights and unpredictable hours. 
  • Manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks. 
  • Must be able to work at your assigned station daily & rapidly during rush hours.
