About this position
The Communications Intern for Event Coverage supports the Office of Communications by capturing photo and video content at pre-approved campus events. This position helps document and share the vibrant experiences of student life, academic programming, and institutional initiatives across Wesleyan College’s digital platforms.This role serves as an entry-level opportunity and first touchpoint for students interested in working with the Communications Department, providing hands-on experience in storytelling, media production, and event coverage.ResponsibilitiesAttend assigned, pre-approved campus events to capture photography and short-form video content.Identify and document engaging moments that showcase student life, campus culture, and institutional events.Submit all captured content to the Communications Office within 48 hours of the event.Follow Wesleyan College brand guidelines and content expectations when capturing media.Represent the Communications Department and Wesleyan College professionally at events.Communicate with the Communications team regarding assigned coverage and content submission.
QualificationsInterest in communications, media, marketing, storytelling, or related fields.Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.Ability to capture basic photo and video content using a smartphone or camera.Strong attention to detail and ability to identify compelling moments during events.Reliable, organized, and able to meet deadlines.

Skills Students Will Gain
