Position Summary: 

 

The AI Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and optimizing artificial intelligence solutions that support operational efficiency, automation, and data driven decision making across the organization. This role partners with engineering, and product teams to build scalable machine learning models, integrate AI tools, automate workflows, and ensure the successful delivery of production grade AI systems. The ideal candidate is innovative, detail oriented, and able to translate complex business needs into reliable technical solutions.

 

Key Performance Areas & Key Performance Indicators:

 

AI Model Development & Deployment: (45%) 

  • Design, build, and deploy agentic AI systems that perform real tasks end-to-end
  • Implement multi-step workflows with tool usage, structured outputs, and state handling
  • Ensure reliability through retries, fallbacks, and guardrails
  • Optimize for latency, cost, and accuracy in production environments
  • Maintain clear system-level documentation and evaluation metrics

 

AI System Integration & Automation: (30%) 

  • Build and integrate AI systems into internal and external platforms (EHRs, APIs, documents)
  • Develop agentic workflows that execute across multiple systems reliably
  • Continuously improve automation coverage and reduce human dependency
  • Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues
  • Ensure systems deliver real operational efficiency gains


Collaboration & Requirements Gathering: (25%)

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations to define AI solutions
  • Translate ambiguous business problems into concrete system designs
  • Take ownership of projects from concept to production
  • Communicate tradeoffs, risks, and outcomes clearly
  • Contribute to internal standards for agentic AI systems

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of software engineering or AI systems experience
  • Strong programming skills in Python
  • Experience training or fine-tuning machine learning models
  • Experience deploying AI models into production environments
  • Familiarity with open-source LLM frameworks and tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with parameter-efficient fine-tuning (e.g., LoRA)
  • Experience with agent-based or workflow automation systems
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
  • Understanding of data pipelines and evaluation frameworks
