We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Ag Equipment Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and perform maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, diesel engines, and agricultural equipment. This position plays a key role in ensuring our fleet and machinery operate efficiently and safely to keep farm operations running smoothly. Why You’ll Love This Role
As the Ag Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and diesel engines.
- Perform minor and major repairs on Caterpillar, Detroit, and Cummins engines, as well as other makes.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems for commercial, agricultural, and construction equipment.
- Replace and repair transmissions, differentials, clutches, hub seals, wheel bearings, fifth wheels, suspensions, steering components, brakes, drums, drive trains, and after-treatment systems.
- Work with and troubleshoot air brake systems, including air valves and brake chambers.
- Read and interpret pneumatic and electrical schematics to identify and resolve system issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, demonstrating strong understanding of component function and interaction.
- Use diagnostic equipment and software to evaluate and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
- Maintain accurate service documentation, job cards, and monthly truck/trailer inspection records.
- Perform work independently and efficiently, ensuring repairs are completed safely and on schedule.
- Oversee and support mechanics and maintenance staff, providing direction, training, and quality control.
- Stay up to date with emerging technology and repair practices through continued training.
- Promote a safe, organized, and high-quality work environment at all times.
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required, technical certification in diesel technology or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty truck, trailer, or diesel engine repair and maintenance.
- Prior supervisory or lead mechanic experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical systems, and diagnostic software.
- Skilled in air brake systems, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs. and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Automotive A/C system skills a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License required; CDL preferred.
- Willingness to work outdoors and in a shop environment and to participate in ongoing training.
Work Environment:
This position operates in both shop and outdoor environments. Work may involve exposure to noise, weather conditions, dust, and heavy equipment. The role requires regular physical activity, including standing, bending, lifting, and using mechanical tools. Safety is a top priority, and personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times. Occasional extended hours may be required during peak repair or maintenance periods.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting pay: $55,000–$60,000 per year (based on experience and skill level).
