Meter Technician

Job Summary: Performs routine service and maintenance tasks. Replaces old meters with new technology throughout the system. Tests and troubleshoots meter accuracy, inspects wiring, and repairs or replaces damaged meters. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Read meters using handheld devices or manually. 
•  Troubleshoot, replace, or repair malfunctioning meters and transmitters. 
•  Ensure meter accuracy and verify readings.
•  Clear water and debris from meter pits
•  Maintain detailed records or work orders, meter history, and inventory. 
•  Perform distribution system maintenance as needed.
•  Other duties as assigned by management

Must be proficient with hand tools, pipefitting, and electronic devices (laptops, tablets) . Must have a valid drivers license with clean driving record. Ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, and work in confined spaces is a must. This position requires strong communication and organization skills. Must be self motivated and confident working alone.
