Melmark is a nonprofit organization providing clinically-sophisticated evidence-based special education, residential, vocational, and therapeutic services for children and adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, developmental and intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, medical complexities, and other neurological and genetic disorders.
Accounts Payable Representative Overview:
The Accounts Payable Representative plays a key role in supporting Melmark New England’s financial operations by executing timely and accurate processing of all payables. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, improving processes, and supporting a mission-driven organization behind the scenes.
Schedule and Salary Information:
• Monday through Friday schedule
• Salary range $70,000-$75,000/year
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 2–3 years of accounting experience
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage high-volume data entry accurately
Accounts Payable Representative Responsibilities:
• Execute all aspects of the Accounts Payable function, including invoice processing, coding, and reconciliation
• Prepare weekly check runs and support monthly closing activities
• Maintain accurate vendor files and manage 1099 forms
• Track expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure timely payments
• Support administrative and special projects as needed
• Provide responsive communication to internal departments and vendors
