The Monell Chemical Senses Center is a world-renowned non-profit research institute, and a global leader dedicated to advancing knowledge about the senses of taste, smell, and related senses and translating its discoveries into real-world advances in policy, practice, and behavior. Monell is located in the heart of the vibrant educational and life sciences hub of Philadelphia. 

The Lal lab is seeking a new Research Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates seeking research experience and to strengthen their CV for graduate or medical school. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training in cutting-edge neuroscience techniques and contribute to projects investigating metabolic and neural adaptations. More experienced candidates are also welcome to apply.

 

Skills and Experience Required: 

  • Experience with animal handling, specifically mice
  • Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biology, or a related field

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with behavioral assays
  • Stereotaxic surgery
  • Peripheral surgery
  • IACUC protocol familiarity
