Job Summary:
The Works Supervisor is in charge of many of the day-to-day operations occurring at the respective contract-level. This position directs, manages and works alongside CE Works’ transitional client employees in order to meet all customer needs and contractual obligations. The Supervisor acts as the first point of contact for all Works customers.
Duties and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
- Ensure the customers’ needs are met according to the contractual obligations with the highest level of customer service.
- Ensure that all safety procedures in the field and in the operation of vehicles, equipment, and tools are being met by all crew members daily.
- Communicate with customers, employees, stakeholders, business owners, property owners, residents, pedestrians with tact and diplomacy.
- Handle all requests and complaints in an immediate and professional manner. Seek help from Works Management where necessary to correct situations as they arise.
- Communicate all client and work-related issues to Works Management when applicable.
- Consult with Works Management to ensure that all labor laws, regulations and company policies are properly followed and enforced.
- Supervise transitional employees on a daily basis to ensure that the scope of work is being executed in a professional and timely manner.
- Train (through regular briefings) employees on job duties, proper uniform, proper use of equipment, safety, and other pertinent areas for each assigned contract.
- Validate and approve transitional employee timesheets and timecards for payroll purposes.
- Perform daily quality inspections on vehicles and machines as assigned and report any hazards or deficiencies immediately.
- Report vehicle accidents immediately to Works Management and provide written documentation for each accident.
- Report transitional employee incidents and injuries immediately to Works Management and provide written documentation for each incident.
- Submit maintenance tracking reports and vehicle inspection reports weekly.
- Check contract supply inventory regularly and make supply requests in a timely manner to the Works Administrator.
- Support the transitional jobs program and assist with the implementation of the program through regular professional feedback to transitional employees.
- Act as a mentor to transitional employees by coaching and recognizing them on their performance with consistent write ups and evaluations.
- Attend and participate in monthly meetings, one-on-ones and other trainings as assigned.
- Adhere to and promote adherence to all Chrysalis Enterprises policies and procedures.
- Support the Chrysalis Mission and adhere to the Chrysalis Code of Ethics.
- Perform street maintenance duties as needed, which may include, but are not limited to:
- Emptying and replacing liners in trash receptacles.
- Removing graffiti and stickers.
- Reporting bulk items.
- Sweeping and/or blowing leaves and other debris on sidewalks and gutters.
- Basic landscaping (e.g., pulling weeds, trimming shrubbery).
- Maintaining equipment.
Job Skills & Qualifications:
- Candidate is or was previously a participant in the Works program
- Strong leadership and communication skills and evidence of a strong work history.
- A willingness and desire to mentor the client employee population and support the transitional jobs program.
- Have a valid Class C California driver’s license and the ability to qualify for Chrysalis Enterprises insurance coverage.
- Ability to pick up, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. and work on their feet throughout shift.
- Demonstrated high levels of quality assurance and professionalism.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and safely. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods, including full work shifts. Capable of manual handling of equipment, containers, or refuse, including loading/unloading tasks and operating mechanical lifting devices (Code 9403).Must be able to work indoors or outdoors in varying environmental conditions such as heat, cold, rain, humidity, and exposure to dust or fumes. Requires frequent climbing, squatting, and twisting motions, and may involve working at heights or on uneven surfaces (Code 9009). Ability to operate vehicles or machinery as needed, with appropriate safety protocols. Must be able to perform repetitive hand and arm movements, including grasping, fine manipulation, and reaching above shoulder level. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to safely perform job duties, including use of protective equipment when required.
