Equipment Standards Training Manager
Location: Roswell, GA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Travel: Daily to multiple job sites throughout the metro area
Compensation: Based on experience and certifications
Job Overview:
Cyclone Land Development is hiring an experienced Equipment Standards & Training Manager to lead operator training, equipment standards, and performance across our jobsites. This role ensures our heavy equipment is operated safely, efficiently, and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines while maximizing uptime and protecting company assets.
This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for someone with strong field experience, a passion for equipment, and the ability to train and mentor operators.
This role is ideal for experienced operators or equipment leaders who take pride in machine care, training others, and setting the standard—not just running iron.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train and mentor equipment operators on safe and proper machine operation
- Enforce startup, shutdown, daily inspection, and walk-around procedures
- Provide hands-on training for machine controls, monitors, and performance indicators
- Support machine technology including CAT 2D Grade Assist, CAT Payload, and GPS systems
- Maintain a strong jobsite presence, especially with new operators
- Conduct equipment application reviews and machine condition inspections
- Track operator training, crew efficiency, and performance
- Develop and reinforce company equipment standards and policies
- Lead classroom and rain-day equipment training sessions
- Collaborate with foremen, superintendents, safety, and equipment management
- Submit weekly performance and efficiency reports to senior leadership
Equipment Standards
- Maintain Tier 4 & Tier 5 equipment in top operating condition to maximize uptime and lifecycle value
- Ensure Tier 1–3 earthmoving and support equipment is maintained and operated per OEM standards

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years operating heavy construction equipment
- Strong knowledge of OEM operator, safety, and maintenance guidelines
- Proven ability to train and correct operators
- Comfortable with technology, GPS, and machine control systems
- Strong communication skills (English required; Spanish preferred)
- Willing to travel overnight as neede
Preferred Experience
- Manufacturer or dealer equipment training
- OSHA / Competent Person / Confined Space certifications
- Experience with grade control, payload systems, and GPS.
