Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in electroplating, hard chrome plating, or surface treatment
• Strong knowledge of plating chemistry, equipment, and process control
• Hands-on experience with Lockout/Tagout, chemical handling, PPE, and safe tool operation
• Experience with ventilation/exhaust systems, air monitoring, and environmental compliance
• Ability to interpret plating specifications, SOPs, blueprints, and thickness requirements
• Experience working within NADCAP, AS9100, and aerospace quality systems
• Proven success supporting EHS programs and regulatory compliance
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• High School Diploma or GED

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Familiarity with industry best practices, technology, and software
• Ability to pass background check, physical exam, and drug screening
• Must comply with company policies and confidentiality agreement
• Interest in firearms, defense technology, or shooting sports is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Leadership
• Direct daily plating operations including scheduling, assigning, and monitoring work
• Ensure compliance with NADCAP, AS9100, and customer specifications
• Drive continuous improvement in throughput, reliability, and cost efficiency
• Technical Expertise
• Serve as subject matter expert for hard chrome plating, bath chemistry, and surface preparation
• Develop and maintain plating procedures and work instructions
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for plating defects
• EHS & Environmental Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations
• Prepare chemical batches and manage safe replacement of plating solutions
• Monitor filtration systems and bath quality
• Conduct audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
• Enforce proper PPE usage
• Quality Assurance
• Partner with Quality to meet aerospace and defense plating standards
• Train team on use of inspection tools (micrometers, gauges, etc.)
• Support internal/external audits and NADCAP accreditation
• Maintain documentation and traceability per industry requirements
• First Aid and CPR certification
• NADCAP special process auditor certification or equivalent experience
• Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification
• Environmental compliance certifications (RCRA, HAZWOPER)
• Chemical handling certification
• OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent safety training
• Team Development
• Train, mentor, and develop plating technicians and operators
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager

Authority:

• Supervise, schedule, assign, and monitor team members work
• Participate in hiring, training, evaluating, counseling, and disciplining employees in accordance with company policy

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands
• Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or reaching overhead
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs frequently
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception
