The IT Associate / IT Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting our firm’s technology infrastructure to ensure our teams can work effectively and without interruption. 

 

The IT Associate / IT Coordinator provides day-to-day technical support to attorneys and staff across WCTL. This role focuses on troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing workstation setup, coordinating onboarding/offboarding system access, and addressing general help-desk inquiries. 


The ideal candidate is customer-focused, resourceful, and detail-oriented with a strong desire to provide high-quality support in a fast-paced legal environment. This position partners directly with the HR Department and an outsourced IT consultant and does not include supervisory responsibilities. 


Responsibilities 


Help Desk & User Support 

  • Serve as first-level support for internal IT issues via ticketing system, email, or in-person requests. 
  • Diagnose and resolve common hardware, software, and connectivity issues. 
  • Escalate complex matters to the off-site IT consultant, tracking communications and next steps. 
  • Communicate solutions clearly and promptly to end users. 

User Access & Onboarding / Offboarding 

  • Coordinate with HR to set up new users, including: 
  • Email 
  • Microsoft/Teams access 
  • Shared drive permissions 
  • Case management platform access 
  • Remove access and collect equipment during offboarding. 
  • Assist with password resets, MFA, and permission updates. 

Hardware & Workstation Support 

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, monitors, printers, and VoIP phones. 
  • Install standard software and assist with updates or patches in coordination with IT vendor. 
  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets, including tagging and equipment tracking. 

Systems & Applications Assistance 

  • Support staff use of: 
  • Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) 
  • VPN access 
  • Internal document/case management tools 
  • Troubleshoot usage issues and provide user guidance as required. 

Maintenance & Compliance 

  • Assist off-site IT consultant with: 
  • Device and system updates 
  • Antivirus and monitoring 
  • Basic networking troubleshooting 
  • Maintain security principles, including access control and equipment handling. 
  • Protect confidential and sensitive client information in all technological interactions. 

Documentation & Training 

  • Create or update internal how-to guides, FAQs, and reference materials. 
  • Provide basic training to new and existing staff on systems and tools. 
  • Maintain process documentation, including hardware checklists and location assignments. 

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of IT support experience (help desk, desktop support, or similar)
  • Strong troubleshooting ability with Windows-based systems 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 suite and cloud environments
  • General understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, switches)
  • Strong customer-service attitude and communication skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy protocols
  • Able to lift and move equipment (30–50 lbs)
