About this position
Community Concepts Inc., a Maine non-profit that provides resources to people to help them move forward, is seeking a Director of Finance. This is a full-time position, based out of our Lewiston Office, and reports directly to the CFO.
Starting Pay Range: $79,000-98,000 annually, based on experience
Essential Duties:
- Partners with the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Team, and is responsible for the development, interpretation, coordination and administration of the Agency’s policies on finance, accounting and internal controls and auditing.
- Responsible for maintenance of records and procedures to adequately safeguard the assets of the Agency
- Provide leadership to focus on long-range solutions for cost-effective support, encouraging excellence in the Department staff, and modeling behaviors and attitudes for a progressive Financial Department.
- Works closely with internal departments to develop reports and templates that capture and disseminate accurate, timely, and consistent information.

Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Business Administration and/or certified by the State Board of Certified Public Accountants preferred.
- Must have 5-7 years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial position.
- Computer literacy is a must including Microsoft Excel & Word, and accounting software.
Other Requirements: Strong understanding of fiscal policy; create usable budgets for the business; hire and oversee the leaders on the Finance Team; a continuous improvement mindset; offer advice to the CFO and CEO regarding spending and budget questions; comfortable with interacting with a Finance Committee/Board, detail oriented, ability to manage/lead multiple financial projects; ability to inspire a team; written and verbal communication must be able to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff; promptly and accurately find solutions to financial related challenges. Pre-employment SBI, DMV, Maine and National Sex Offender Registry, fraud, and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire and as a condition of employment.
