Job Summary:

The Seasonal Server Assistant supports the food and beverage team by delivering fast, friendly, and efficient service in a lively resort environment. This role helps maintain clean and organized dining areas, assists servers with guest needs, and ensures a smooth flow of operations during high-volume periods. The Server Assistant contributes to an upbeat, guest-focused atmosphere by staying proactive, attentive, and ready to jump in wherever needed to enhance the overall dining experience.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Assist in presenting menus and providing information about the dishes and beverages offered.
• Support servers by efficiently clearing and resetting tables for new guests.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly from the kitchen or bar to guests, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Check orders for accuracy and completeness before delivering them to the customers.
• Assist with responding to customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints as directed by servers.
• Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including tables, chairs, and serving stations.
• Set up tables and ensure they are properly arranged with necessary condiments and utensils.
• Collaborate with other team members, such as hosts/hostesses and kitchen staff, to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction.
• Assist with the processing of customer payments as needed, following the direction of servers.
• Follow all relevant health and safety regulations and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Assist in restocking supplies and notify management when items are running low.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required to enhance job knowledge and performance.

Qualifications and Skills: 

• Proven experience as a Server Assistant/Busser/Runner or in a similar customer service role is preferred.  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers.  
• Strong multitasking and organizational abilities to handle multiple tables and tasks simultaneously.  
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.  
• Basic math skills for accurately processing payments and making change.  
• Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including an understanding of ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and handling cash transactions.  
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the business.  
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays or objects for extended periods.  
• A professional appearance and demeanor, with attention to personal hygiene and grooming standards.
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
• Stand/walk for extended periods of time.
