Position Overview
Elgin Country Club is seeking an Experienced Broiler Cook to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for a skilled cook who takes pride in high-quality food preparation, presentation, and consistency. As part of our team, you will help provide an exceptional dining experience for our Members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items on the broiler station to order, ensuring proper timing, temperature, and presentation
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and plating standards consistently
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the broiler station
- Monitor food quality and inventory, reporting shortages or issues to the kitchen manager
- Collaborate with other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Assist with prep work and other stations as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a broiler cook or in a similar high-volume kitchen environment
- Knowledge of proper cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Professionalism and a commitment to delivering high-quality food
- Culinary school or formal training is a plus but not required
Schedule & Availability
- Flexible scheduling, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Steady, consistent availability preferred to support busy club operations
