What Makes This Role Special

If you are well versed in mechanical and electrical diagnostics, experienced with engines and transmission repairs, and skilled in handling all ancillary functions such as evacuation & recharging A/C systems, ABS brake bleeds, relearn protocols and tire mounting, South Florida Auto Auction is the place you've been looking for to take your next career step.

This isn't your standard repair shop position – you'll be an essential part of a team that ensures hundreds of vehicles are auction-ready in our dynamic environment.

Your Day-to-Day Adventures

Inspect vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems using the latest diagnostic tools
Prepare detailed condition reports on vehicles to be auctioned
Provide thorough post-sale inspections to ensure customer satisfaction
Perform necessary mechanical repairs on arbitrated vehicles with attention to detail
Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for repair work
Maintain comprehensive records on work completed and outstanding issues
Support Lot Crews to ensure smooth daily operations
Maintain shop, equipment and tools in excellent condition

What We're Looking For (The Must-Haves)

High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of automotive mechanic experience (this is the big one!) and some experience with vehicle diagnostics
ASE & OEM certifications (not required, but we'd be impressed!)
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and ability to pass our background check and drug screening
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditions
Understanding of basic automotive systems (engine, transmission, brakes, electrical)
Ability to quickly identify common vehicle issues
Comfortable using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment
Valid unrestricted driver's license and ability to drive manual and automatic transmissions
Must possess a personal set of tools required for the role
Basic computer skills for recording vehicle conditions and repairs
Ability to coordinate with auction staff, drivers, and management
Comfort working on various makes, models, and vehicle types

The Details

Schedule: Monday - Friday, with Wednesday auction day support (weekends are yours!)
Location: Our Lauderdale Lakes, location (33311) - you'll need to be able to get here
Environment: Indoor/outdoor work in a busy auction facility
Style: Full-time, permanent position where you can really build something
