Main Purpose:

The Painter is responsible for preparing, mixing and applying paints to various surfaces using airless and conventional spray methods.  The Painter will also assist with inventory management, ensuring that supplies are well stocked and available for production needs.


Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and mix paints according to specifications, ensuring the correct color, texture and consistency
  • Apply paint to surfaces using airless and conventional spray methods, ensuring a smooth, even and high-quality finish
  • Perform metal finishing tasks to ensure the surfaces are properly prepared for painting
  • Conduct regular inventory checks on paints, supplies and materials and requisition additional supplies as needed to avoid production delays
  • Accurately measure and check paint thickness to meet quality and industry standards
  • Understand and adhere to all operating and safety procedures within the paint department
  • Provide assistance to other team members within the paint department as required, contributing to the smooth flow of operations
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements:


Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing
  • Turning, twisting, bending and balancing
  • Pushing, pulling and reaching
  • Must be able to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds

Job Requirements:

  • 1+ years experience in metal painting, preferably in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be able to read and use a tape measure to assist with surface measurements and paint application
  • Must be able to work with respirators and other protective gear while mixing and applying paints
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Desirable Experience, Education and Training:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Tools, Equipment and Technology:

  • Airless and conventional sprayers
  • Paint
  • Tape Measure
  • PPE

Environmental Conditions:

80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet and dry conditions, dust, mud etc.  They will also be exposed to paint thinner and paint fumes.
