Purpose of the Position
This position is a core procurement and coordination role at Hailiang Group’s U.S. base, covering comprehensive procurement execution primarily focused on engineering-related categories. As the key liaison between the U.S. base and China headquarters, this role supports the implementation of the Group’s procurement digitalization system in the United States.
Main Responsibilities
1. Comprehensive Procurement Coordination & Execution
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of procurement activities at the U.S. base, covering engineering, production, and operational materials.
- Engineering procurement: Civil works, steel structures, electromechanical equipment, fire protection systems, etc.
- Industrial production procurement: Equipment, spare parts, consumables, tools, raw materials, etc.
- Operations procurement: Daily operational materials.
- Manage urgent and phased procurement needs to ensure project progress and supply chain stability.
2. China–U.S. Communication & Localization
- Serve as liaison between U.S. base and China headquarters.
- Implement procurement systems, approval processes, and compliance standards.
- Localize group policies according to U.S. laws and business environment.
- Report U.S. market trends, supplier updates, pricing, and risks to headquarters.
3. Procurement Digital System Implementation
- Deploy and manage MDM and SRM systems at the U.S. base.
- Ensure standardized system operation and accurate data management.
- Resolve system issues and improve workflow efficiency.
4. Routine Procurement Management & Risk Control
- Track procurement requests, delivery, and acceptance.
- Support contract negotiation, review, and approval processes.
- Maintain supplier relationships and conduct price negotiations.
- Participate in supplier evaluation and risk management.
Other Duties: Complete additional tasks assigned by leadership.
Work Coordination
Internal: China HQ Procurement Center, U.S. Management Team, Digital Team, Finance Department.
External: U.S. suppliers, logistics providers, contractors/subcontractors, regulatory agencies.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or above.
Major: Supply chain, engineering, management, or related fields preferred.
Experience: 3–7 years in procurement or supply chain; project management experience preferred.
Language: Fluent English required; Chinese (Mandarin) preferred.
System Skills: Experience with SRM, MDM, ERP systems preferred.
Competencies: Strong execution, compliance awareness, cross-functional collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
