About this position
The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing telecom construction projects, including aerial and underground fiber deployments. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day field operations for telecom construction projects (OSP fiber, coax, FTTH, aerial & underground).
Supervise subcontractors and in-house crews to ensure productivity, safety, and quality standards are met.
Coordinate with utility companies, municipalities, and permitting agencies.
Review and interpret construction drawings, KMZ files, field maps, and engineering designs.
Monitor project budgets, track production (footage, splicing, placement), and control costs.
Conduct site walks, quality inspections, and safety audits.
Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
Manage project schedules and provide regular updates to senior leadership and clients.
Oversee documentation including redlines, closeout packages, as-builts, and daily reports.
Resolve field issues related to locates (MISS DIG/811), traffic control, and right-of-way challenges.
Support client relationships with providers such as Comcast, AT&T, Charter, Verizon, etc.
Qualifications
5+ years of telecom construction experience (OSP fiber preferred).
2+ years in a supervisory or management role.
Strong knowledge of aerial and underground construction methods.
Experience with fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployments preferred.
Familiarity with permitting, utility locates (811/MISS DIG), and municipal processes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and GIS/KMZ mapping.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and project management systems.
Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
