GENERAL SUMMARY:
This is an hourly position in Manteno, Illinois reports to the Warehouse Manager. This is a vital dual role in managing the flow of materials, finished goods, and specialized requests such as sales samples. This position serves as a key link between incoming supplies/raw materials, production operations, outbound customer shipments, and sales/marketing activities by accurately handling receipts, inventory movements, and shipments, including the preparation and pulling of product samples for sales demonstrations, customer evaluations, or prospect approvals.
SCOPE OF JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Liaison and Communication:
· Serve as the primary point of contact for shipping-related inquiries from manufacturing, customer service,
and sales.
· Communicate shipping statuses, potential delays, and special requests to relevant stakeholders.
· Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure production schedules align with shipping requirements.
· Work closely with customer service to resolve any shipping discrepancies or customer concerns.
· Provide shipping information and support to the sales team to facilitate order fulfillment.
- Clerical Functions:
· Perform a variety of administrative tasks for the Shipping Department, including data entry, filing, and
record keeping.
· Generate reports on shipping activities, costs, and inventory as required.
· Manage and order shipping supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
· Assist with inventory counts and reconciliations.
- Sample Process Management:
· Manage the end-to-end sample request process for the sales team.
· Receive and fulfill sample requests, ensuring accurate product selection and packaging.
· Pick, prepare and ship samples for customers or sales representatives, tracking shipments as needed.
· Maintain a detailed log of all sample requests and shipments.
· Coordinate production to ensure sample availability.
- Shipping and Receiving Operations:
· Assist the shipping and receiving team other tasks on an as needed basis.
· Vacation and absenteeism fill-in for both the shipping and receiving coordinators.
· Order and maintain proper levels of warehouse supplies the entire warehouse team.
· Audit and track forklift daily sign-off to ensure 100% compliance
Requirements:SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
- High School Education or equivalent required.
- 1 years’ minimum related experience in a shipping or receiving administrative environment.
- 1 year experience operating a Forklift.
- Ability to use a computer &/or RF scanner.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, & communication skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to follow instruction & work under pressure.
- Ability to lift up 50 lbs.
