Cook- de Lazy Lizard

OC LIZARD LLC Ocean City, Maryland, United States

About this position

Description:

At de Lazy Lizard, our cooks are the heartbeat of the kitchen — bringing island flavor, consistency, and speed to a high-volume waterfront environment. This isn’t just a back-of-house job. It’s a fast-paced, team-driven role that fuels the entire guest experience for our 750 guests we seat at one time.

Our kitchen runs with urgency, organization, and pride. We serve families, locals, and vacation crowds all season long — and every plate that leaves the window represents our brand. The Cook is responsible for preparing and executing menu items according to established recipes, cook times, and presentation standards. You will work assigned stations while ensuring food leaves the window hot, accurate, and timely — even during peak rushes. Cooks are expected to maintain a clean and organized station, manage ticket flow efficiently, communicate clearly with the team, and uphold all health department and food safety standards at all times. Successful cooks at de Lazy Lizard stay calm under pressure, move with purpose, and take pride in delivering consistent, high-quality food. Ideal candidates are dependable, coachable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in high-heat, high-energy conditions.

If you’re ready to step onto the line, bring the heat, and keep the island running — we’re ready for you.
