Job Summary

The Warehouse Floor Supervisor oversees daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced beverage distribution environment. This role ensures accurate, efficient, and safe receiving, storage, and shipping of products, including beverages, wine, and spirits. The supervisor leads warehouse staff, maintains inventory integrity, supports logistics coordination, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards. This position is critical to achieving operational accuracy, productivity, and on-time fulfillment for retail, off-premise, and distribution customers.

  

Core Competencies


Operations Management

o Supervise daily warehouse functions including receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, staging, and shipping.

o Ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on schedule for high-volume retail customers.

o Assign workloads, monitor productivity, and adjust staffing as needed to meet KPIs.

o Oversee warehouse equipment usage (forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks) and ensure proper maintenance and safe operation.

o Maintain product integrity by monitoring storage conditions and enforcing proper inventory rotation


Inventory Control

o Perform regular cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels.

o Investigate and resolve discrepancies, breakage, and product loss.

o Communicate low stock, backorders, and product issues with purchasing and sales teams.

o Ensure compliance with beverage and alcohol storage regulations.


Team Leadership

o Lead, train, and motivate warehouse associates to meet productivity and accuracy goals.

o Conduct shift startup meetings to communicate goals, priorities, and safety reminders.

o Provide coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action when required.

o Foster a positive, organized, and accountable work environment.


Safety & Compliance

o Enforce OSHA standards and company safety policies.

o Conduct daily floor inspections and ensure a clean, hazard-free workspace.

o Oversee proper handling of alcohol and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

o Maintain documentation related to incidents, safety checks, and equipment inspections.


Logistics & Coordination

o Coordinate closely with transportation and delivery teams to ensure timely outbound shipments.

o Oversee truck loading/unloading and verify accuracy of shipping documents (BOLs, manifests, invoices).

o Support routing, staging, and preparation for daily distribution activities.


Systems & Reporting

o Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) and RF scanners to manage inventory and workflow.

o Track productivity metrics, pick accuracy, and inventory accuracy.

o  Collaborate with management to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

Qualifications

o High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.

o  3+ years of warehouse experience in beverage, food, or distribution industries.

o 1–3 years of supervisory or team-lead experience.

o Strong understanding of inventory control, product rotation, and order fulfillment processes.

o Proficiency in WMS, ERP systems, RF scanners, and Microsoft Office.

o Knowledge of OSHA standards and warehouse safety practices.

o Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

o  Forklift certification required.

o Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.


Physical Requirements

o Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods.

o Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.

o Ability to push/pull loads up to 200 lbs.

o  Ability to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.

o Comfortable working in varying temperatures (warehouse, coolers, loading areas).

o Schedule may vary based on delivery, warehouse volume, and operational needs.
