About this position
Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast. GMC has an opening for a Learning & Development Coordinator to support the development, coordination, and delivery of training and professional development initiatives across GMC. The ideal candidate will be located in either our Atlanta, GA or Greenville, SC office. This newly developed role will play a key part in ensuring engaging learning experiences, program execution, and alignment with the firm’s strategic goals. The L&D Coordinator partners with leadership, department managers and employees to deliver high-quality training programs that support employee growth and organizational success. Essential functions and responsibilities include:
- Coordinate companywide training sessions, workshops, and learning events (virtual and in-person).
- Assist with planning and executing Project Manager Bootcamp sessions, including scheduling, materials preparation, logistics coordination, and participant communication.
- Support department-specific training initiatives by coordinating logistics, tracking participation, and assisting with materials development.
- Coordinate and support New Employee Orientation sessions to ensure a welcoming and informative onboarding experience, working closely with Human Resources and department leadership.
- Provide administrative and operational support for leadership development programs.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning across the organization.
- Gather and analyze participant feedback to improve program effectiveness.
- Schedule sessions, manage training calendars and coordinate meeting logistics.
- Prepare reports and presentations for leadership regarding program outcomes and participation.
- Assist in implementing professional development initiatives aligned with organizational goals, working closely with HR and department leadership.
- Track employee training participation, completion metrics and feedback data.
- Assist with maintenance of learning management systems (LMS).
- Support the development and distribution of learning materials and communications.
- Research new training tools, vendors and best practices to enhance learning programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an architecture or engineering-related field, human resources, communications or something similar
- Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take on new tasks.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to connect with a diverse group of people.
- Ability to execute a project from start to finish.
- Comfortable facilitating small to mid-sized groups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with LMS platforms preferred.
- Proficiency with technology, especially virtual learning software.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Strong desire to grow professionally.

- Experience working in the AEC industry.
Work Environment
- This role may require occasional travel to support in-person training sessions and company events. Flexibility to support virtual and hybrid learning environments is required.
