Summary:


Locate, retrieve and assemble parts onto the coolers, based on the work order   instructions. When completed, move the   coolers to a skid and prepare the coolers for the Shipping department. 

 

Essential   Functions:


1. Read and understand the work   instruction list, and print off the related blueprints. 

2. Inspect the quality of the coolers, and   use corrective tools to make any necessary repairs and adjustments.

3. Locate and retrieve parts that are   needed for assembly. 

4. Manually, or with assistance of a chain   hoist, move the cooling package to the work area. 

5. Assemble and attach the parts to the   cooling package, in accordance with the blueprint instructions. 

6. Manually, or with assistance of a chain   hoist, move the cooling package from the work area to the appropriate skid   and stack the cooling packages by using wood or cardboard spacers. 

7. Document that the cooling package has   been assembled, and place a label on the cooling package to indicate   completion. 

8. Use a saw, as needed, to cut the   plywood and build the skids. 

9. Meet the production quotas that were   received from the Lead or Supervisor. 

10. Maintain a clean and safe work   environment. 

11. Develop and maintain knowledge of   various parts used in the Final Assembly department. 

12. Report any issues to the supervisor, or   appropriate personnel, as soon as detected. 

13. Adhere to all policies, procedures,   and/or requirements set forth in AKG’s environmental management system (EMS).

14. Regular physical attendance is a   requirement for this position. Refer to AKG attendance policy in the   Information Handbook for Employees.

Minimum   Qualifications:

1. Experience working in a manufacturing environment   is required, prior experience working in final assembly is preferred.  

2. Must be available and able to work the agreed   upon shift. 


Knowledge,   Skills and Abilities:

1. Ability to use basic computer programs. 

2. Ability to read and understand detailed blueprint   instructions.

3. Must have basic mathematic skills, along with the   ability to use and understand measuring tools. 

4. Must   have great attention to detail. 


Physical   Demands:

1. Must be able to sit (30%), walk   (65%)   and stand (5%) of the time. May also be   required to bend, stoop, pull, push, twist and turn. 

2. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs (20%) of   the time. 

3. Must be able to use a chain hoist,   pallet jack, saw, power tools and basic mechanic tools. 

4. Must use safety equipment such as steel   toe shoes and safety glasses. Safety   glasses are provided.
