About this position

PRIMARY FUNCTION

  • Under the direction of the Senior Facilities, Automation and Maintenance Manager and partnering with the HR Manager, will provide health, safety and environmental support and guidance throughout all activities.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory HSE requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with contract HSE requirements.
  • Assists in the development and delivery of Operational Processes safely.
  • Enforces company policies and procedures.
  • Assists teams to deliver an exemplary HSE performance.
  • Performance Measurement
  • Identifies potential and actual areas of improvement and assists in setting and formulating goals and tools for their achievement.
  • Provides input to leading and lagging HSE performance measures.
  • Liaises with all stakeholders to be aware and educate the workforce on HSE news & updates.
  • Lessons Learnt
  • Provides input to the collection of Lessons Learnt for all activities.
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment.
  • Assists teams in identifying hazards, assessing risks, and identifying relevant controls to manage and reduce these risks to ALARP.
  • Fosters a safe culture by being informed, mindful, learning, fair and respectful.
  • Perform audits to measure the level of safety culture.
  • Carries out or facilitates safety audits and inspections as per audit plan.
  • Provides HSE input to HSE Management System Reviews.
  • Ensures Incidents are recorded & reported.
  • Prepares initial incident reports.
  • Carries out immediate Incident & Near Miss investigation.
  • Facilitates & participates in High-Level Incident investigations.
  • Ensures that the company safety expectations are communicated to the workforce.
  • Provides training sessions as per Training Plan & Competency development requirements.

  • Manages contractor and consultants in all aspects of health and safety.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of safety compliance experience. 
  •  

    EXPERIENCE

    •    Previous experience in manufacturing or electronics industry preferred. 

    •     Strong organizational skills and written and verbal communication skills.

    •     Industrial Hygiene and Behavior-Based Safety culture experience.

  • Experience in interpreting and enforcing OSHA regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and well developed observational and analytical skills.
  • Success in leading and influencing people, in addition to developing strong relationships across all levels and functions.
  •  

    LICENSURE:

  • CPR or EMT certified preferred.
  • OSHA certified preferred.
  •

  • TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Works in a typical office environment with a possibility of working remotely.
  • Incumbent must be able to operate a computer.
  • Lift/carry 10lb. or less, push/pull 12lbs. or less.
  • Stooping, bending, stretching, and reaching outward and over their head.
  • This position may require extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking. 
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
  • May require travel.
