Job Summary
The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Inspection, Shipping, and Receiving departments, ensuring compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role involves team leadership, process optimization, and quality assurance, driving adherence to company policies and industry best practices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise inspection department staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Provide mentorship and training to enhance team skills, efficiency, and career development.
- Assign and monitor daily data collection sheets to track performance and identify improvement areas.
- Schedule overtime as needed, obtaining approval from the Director of Quality while ensuring compliance with labor regulations.
- Share cross-training initiatives with other departments to optimize personnel utilization.
- Lead production meetings by providing insights, updates, and recommendations for process improvements.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure all procedures and policies are followed, reviewed, and updated as necessary.
- Maintain accountability for process and product quality, ensuring customer expectations and compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS 9100, or other applicable standards.
- Conduct First Article Inspection Requests (FAIRs), Statistical Process Control (SPC) monitoring, and Production Part Approval Processes (PPAPs).
- Analyze defect rates, customer complaints, and process deviations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Coordinate and lead external audits, acting as the primary liaison for regulatory and customer compliance.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements, using Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodologies—Yellow or Green Belt certification is a plus.
- Monitor and improve quality metrics, such as defect rates, efficiency, and customer satisfaction scores.
- Implement error reduction strategies, reducing rework and waste while improving first-pass yield.
- Suggest and implement workflow improvements based on data analysis and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with the safety committee to maintain a safe work environment and develop safety initiatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities over the Quality Department, Shipping, and Receiving teams. Duties include:
- Leading team development and training to maintain quality excellence.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, and industry standards.
- Managing performance evaluations, feedback, and professional growth plans for employees.

Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures, standards, and industry regulations.
- Proficient problem-solving skills, capable of root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in custom production manufacturing (preferred).
- Understanding of printing and electrical circuits (preferred).
- Exposure to Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodologies; certification is a plus.
- Ability to conduct and interpret SPC data, PPAPs, and FAIRs.
- Experience reducing defects, errors, and rework in production processes.
- Proven ability to drive customer satisfaction and quality improvements.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years of quality control experience required.
- 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate complex quality requirements and procedures.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and process documentation effectively.
- Ability to present information to customers, clients, and employees in an organized and professional manner.
Mathematical & Analytical Skills
- Ability to analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and implement process improvements.
- Proficiency in statistical data analysis and process performance evaluation.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply logical problem-solving skills to quality issues and process optimizations.
- Capable of balancing strategic and tactical thinking in quality control leadership.

This is an onsite, fulltime position requiring you to be in office Monday-Friday 8am to 4:30pm with overtime as required.
