About this position

  Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations
  • Provide individual psychotherapy/counseling for patients with mental health disorders and substance use disorders, including those receiving medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
  • Complete narcotic risk evaluations and behavioral health assessments in support of pain management services
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans in accordance with clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and payer guidelines
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and assessments, within the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Collaborate with physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals as part of an interdisciplinary care team
  • Provide patient education, crisis intervention, and referrals to appropriate community resources
  • Ensure compliance with Pennsylvania state regulations, federal guidelines, and Rural Health Clinic documentation and billing standards
  • Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

  Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania license that permits independent clinical practice and direct billing to insurance (required)
  • Acceptable licenses include LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or any other Pennsylvania behavioral health license that allows independent practice and payer billing
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited program
  • Experience providing outpatient behavioral health therapy or counseling services
  • Knowledge of or experience with substance use disorder treatment, MAT, and/or pain management populations preferred
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care, evidence-based practices, and integrated care models
  • Strong clinical documentation skills and comfort working within an EHR
  • Ability to work independently while functioning effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

  

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in a Rural Health Clinic (RHC), Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), or integrated primary care setting, preferred but not necessary
  • Experience supporting OBOT/MAT programs and behavioral health care for patients with chronic pain
  • Understanding of regulatory, compliance, and payer documentation requirements for behavioral health services
