Safety Assistant – Responsibilities
A Safety Assistant supports the Safety Manager or Safety Department in implementing and maintaining workplace health and safety programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Assistant Translator - Must be able to read & write in English & Spanish
- Spanish Translator in Excel - Word - Powerpoint - Google Drive along with translating safety trainings in Spanish
- Assist in conducting regular safety inspections and audits.
- Help maintain safety records, incident reports, and training documentation.
- Support accident and incident investigations by gathering information and preparing reports.
- Assist with the coordination and delivery of safety training sessions.
- Ensure safety signage, labels, and documentation are up to date and clearly posted.
- Monitor the availability and condition of personal protective equipment (PPE); coordinate distribution and replacements.
- Help ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
- Report unsafe conditions, behaviors, or violations promptly.
- Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills and first aid supply checks.
Requirements
· Will be trained in Basic First Aid, CPR, and AED.
· Will receive forklift certification and may be required to become a certified forklift trainer.
- OSHA 10 General Industry Card would be great, but not required
