This role will be located in Corona, CA.
WHAT WE NEED
As a Controls Technician is to work as a key maintenance team contributor to support company objectives with respect to keeping the plant equipment in excellent working condition. Responsibilities include reducing setup, repair, installing, maintaining machinery and process equipment including electrical, component failures, performing preventative maintenance duties and providing corrective technical support for equipment. The role requires strong electrical and PLC troubleshooting aptitude.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Assist in the diagnoses of electrical malfunctions in machinery, equipment and processes.
- Troubleshooting PLC/Control Systems, VFD and controls.
- Troubleshoot and setup vision systems (Pressco, Cognex, Keyence and DVT)
- Assist with the installation of new equipment and enhancing equipment through continuous improvements and upgrades. Yearly plant shut-down maintenance work required.
- Complete preventative maintenance on all equipment to maximize efficiency and limit downtime.

- Following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) will support safety programs and policies to safeguard personal safety, product safety, company property, environmental and team member’s safety.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- High School Diploma
- 3 – 5 years’ experience or ISA CCST level I – III / AAS Electrical Tech
- Experience working with manufacturing equipment including 3 phase motors, control wiring, 24VDC, 120VAC, 208/220VAC, 400VAC, 480VAC.
- Experience with Controls for Conveyor Systems and Power Transmissions, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Pumps and Valves.
- Experience with Temperature, pressure controls and tuning PID loops.
- Experience with calibration of RTD, Thermocouple and other low voltage sensors.
- Experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix
- Experience editing PLC code to improve line controls
- Experience editing HMI’s
- Experience with network switches, Point IO, remote IO and connections with EthernetIP
- Experience with HVAC controls
- Experience with vision systems such as Pressco, Cognex, Keyence and DVT
- Experience with ammonia and freon refrigeration controls
- Experience with boiler and compressed air system electrical components
At BRF, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $40.00 and $45.00 per hour. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
