About this position

Position Description: The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, cash, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities and will report to the Controller. The Staff Accountant will contribute to continuous process improvement in support of the Vision of the Company to grow from $27.5 MM to $220 MM in five years.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide excellent customer service and contribute to a collaborative workplace culture.
  • Review existing field administrative and internal accounting processes and identify which working processes are valuable and which are inefficient and should be changed or eliminated.
  • Nurture and support value-added field administrative and accounting working processes which streamline workflows, minimize wastage, mitigate redundancies and improves quality of accounting product.
  • Review, analyze and prepare monthly journal entries for month end close, including accruals, revenue recognition, amortizations, cost allocations and any other that may be required.
  • Reconcile monthly accounts by way of preparing balance sheet reconciliations for various legal entities and provide explanations for unusual balances.
  • Assist in the preparation of corporate charge allocations, including insurance, etc.
  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Provide support for the internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules and support documentation as required for designated accounts, and providing explanations as needed.
  • Assist in reviewing and implementing accounting and control procedures as necessary to meet established Company goals.
  • Communicate with local management to explain variances and prepare for closing accruals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Can perform cutoff testing for revenue and expenses.
  • Ability to train others on the ERP software and accrual method accounting.
  • Other responsibilities include monitoring and handling intercompany transactions, cash management, bank reconciliations, recording fixed asset acquisitions and other specific request as required to support the department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in accounting from an accredited university is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 to 7 years of related experience.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS office with advance MS Excel skills required.
  • Experience with ERP software: NetSuite or other integrated accounting software experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Travel may be required.
