About this position
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Auditor supports the Training Department by conducting regular audits of production processes, documentation, and operator performance to ensure procedures are being followed correctly after training. This role verifies that employees apply their training consistently, identifies gaps in understanding or process adherence, and provides feedback to improve both training content and manufacturing performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine audits on the production floor to ensure employees are following standard work instructions and safety procedures.
- Verify that training materials and job instructions match actual practices being performed.
- Identify process deviations or skill gaps and communicate findings to the Training Manager for follow-up or retraining.
- Observe operators and provide constructive feedback to promote skill consistency and best practices.
- Review production documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
- Track and report audit results, trends, and retraining needs to management.
- Support onboarding and refresher training by sharing audit findings and improvement opportunities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process updates.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Familiarity with production processes, safety standards, and work instructions.
Must haves:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies in process or documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable giving feedback and coaching on the production floor.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and audit reporting.
Preferred Skills:
- Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish)
- Basic understanding of standard manufacturing practices and visual work instructions.
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience; experience in quality, training, or auditing preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk and stand throughout production areas for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Exposure to a typical manufacturing environment (noise, PPE requirements, machinery).
