Under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor, the Shipping Associate is responsible for the efficient processing and management of outgoing shipments. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure workplace safety: Actively demonstrate and drive behaviors that result in zero accidents and injuries to demonstrate that the safety of our employees is the most important asset that are under our care.
  • Wrap and stage pallets for efficient storage and transfer.
  • Ensure paperwork is completed accurately and maintain proper records.
  • Perform regular housekeeping duties to keep the work area organized.
  • Verify stock quantities for transfers and update the system accordingly for returns and finished goods.
  • Manage the sample process for larger shipments, including packaging samples with dry ice or cooler packs.
  • Print Bills of Lading (BOLs) and scan all completed BOLs to Scan Path.
  • Communicate shipment status updates to customer service for CRM updates (Salesforce).
  • Coordinate with the relevant team regarding product or material transfers between plants.
  • Notify when trucks do not arrive as scheduled.
  • Load and unload pallets and ensure efficient transfers.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety standards.
  • Check in all Manufacturing Orders (MOs) and stage orders for processing.
  • Handle in-system movements and bin transfers.
  • Request the drop-off and pick-up of pallet trucks for scrap and new pallets.

Education and/or Experience

Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma and one to three years of related experience.


Language Skills

Ability to speak, read, and comprehend English. Comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to other employees of the organization.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Other Qualifications

Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment to include a computer, hoist, hand truck and various small hand tools. Requires the ability to pass forklift operator course and drive a forklift.

The employee works in a factory environment and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. He/she is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
