About the Role
PanCare of Florida is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our dedicated clinical team. In this role, you will provide hands-on patient care under the supervision of licensed nurses and medical providers, delivering services within your certification scope while supporting PanCare’s mission of providing accessible, high-quality healthcare to underserved communities.
You will perform a blend of clinical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and a positive patient experience. This role requires strong collaboration with medical providers, clinic leadership, and administrative staff in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse or medical provider
- Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure)
- Perform routine diagnostic tests and procedures, including EKGs and specimen collection
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the medical provider
- Perform phlebotomy and process blood, urine, and other specimens per standing orders
- Assist providers during patient exams, treatments, and procedures
- Observe, document, and report patient conditions and responses to treatment
- Prepare patients for examinations and educate them on testing and sample collection
- Maintain efficient patient flow throughout the clinic
- Prepare and restock exam rooms and treatment areas
- Monitor emergency equipment, oxygen tanks, medication storage, and clinical supplies
- Assist with referrals, diagnostic testing coordination, and follow-up care
- Support accurate clinical documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Assist with UDS, HEDIS, and Care Gap documentation and tracking
- Participate in CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control compliance
- Collaborate with clinic leadership, billing, and administrative teams
- Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient clinic operations
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong clinical skills including vitals, injections, phlebotomy, and wound care
- Ability to perform basic lab procedures and assist with diagnostic testing
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and medical equipment
- Strong communication skills with patients, providers, and staff
- Ability to educate patients on procedures and care plans
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Professional, compassionate, and team-oriented demeanor
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
Education & Experience
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
- Certification: Active Medical Assistant certification required(CMA, RMA)
- Experience: Prior healthcare experience preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25–30lbs(equipment and supplies)
- Manual dexterity for clinical procedures and equipment use
- Ability to bend, reach, and reposition as needed for patient care
- Physical stamina to perform duties in a busy clinical setting
