About this position

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Laboratory Director to lead our hospital-based clinical laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, drive innovation, and foster a culture of excellence in patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with CAP, CLIA, JCAHO, FDA, and CMS standards.
Develop and implement departmental strategies to achieve goals in service quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and staff development.
Monitor resource utilization and adjust operations to meet fiscal objectives; prepare Monthly Operating Review reports.
Ensure adequate and qualified staffing through effective hiring, orientation, competency assessments, training, and performance management.
Develop, implement, and annually review laboratory policies and procedures.
Manage vendor relationships and supply contracts in collaboration with Laboratory Services and Supply Chain departments.
Foster open communication within the department and encourage feedback for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry required; Master's degree preferred.
National certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP) required.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive laboratory management experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Demonstrated leadership experience in hospital clinical laboratories.
Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, subject to applicable laws and regulations.
