Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years of payroll experience required. 
  • Prior accounting experience is preferred.
  • Experience with payroll systems, preferably Paylocity, and the ability to quickly learn HRIS platforms and related software.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations including taxes, wage garnishments, and benefit deductions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for payroll reporting and data management.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.


In this role, you will

  • Process bi-weekly payroll and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Manage employee payroll updates including new hires, terminations, promotions, pay changes, and manager changes.
  • Review and audit payroll data such as timekeeping records, wage calculations, bonuses, deductions, and manual checks.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records including direct deposit, tax elections, and demographic information.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies while responding to employee payroll inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including processing wage garnishments and maintaining proper documentation.
  • Prepare payroll reports, support audits, assist with payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations, and identify opportunities to improve payroll processes.
