Position Summary
The Parts Department Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, processing, storing, and shipping automotive parts and accessories. This role ensures timely and accurate inventory flow within the dealership to support service technicians, retail customers, and wholesale clients.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving
- Receive incoming parts shipments from manufacturer and vendors
- Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Process incoming parts into the dealership management system (DMS).
- Label andproperly storeparts in assigned warehouse locations.
- Prepare, package, and ship outgoing parts orders to customers and other dealerships.
- Coordinateshipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx) for pickups and deliveries.
Inventory Control
- Maintainaccurateinventory records andassistwith cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Report discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods to the Parts Manager.
- Organize warehouse space to ensure efficient storage and retrieval.
- Monitor stock levels and notify management of low inventory or backordered items.
Internal Support
- Distribute received parts promptly to service technicians and counter staff.
- Assistparts counter personnel withlocatingand pulling parts as needed.
- Ensure core returns and warranty parts are processed according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Fill in as driver for parts deliveries and pickups
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GEDrequired.
- Priorwarehouse, shipping/receiving, or automotive parts experience preferred.
- Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computerproficiencyand data entry accuracy.
- Ability tolift upto 50lbsand stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Ability tooperateforklifts and pallet jacks (certification preferred).
